About the Bible
Everything we believe, teach and practice comes from the Bible, God's message of love and hope for all people. We believe that the Bible is completely reliable and without error. In it we learn everything we need to know about God's love, His gifts to us, and our relationship with Him.
About God
There is only one true God – the Triune God – who exists in three separate but equal persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
God the Father is the Creator of all things. As His most beloved creation; we humans are closest to His heart. The Son is Jesus Christ, who came to earth as the perfect "go-between" between God and humanity. Jesus was sent by God to redeem humankind, which He accomplished with His death and resurrection. The Holy Spirit creates faith in the hearts of all who believe in Jesus as their Savior, and assists us in living the “Christian life.”
About "Being Saved"
There is absolutely nothing we can do to "be saved" - Jesus Christ has already done everything necessary. In His death and resurrection, everyone who believes in Jesus as Savior has been brought back into a right relationship with God. Because of Jesus, all who believe are forgiven and will have eternal life in heaven.
About Faith
Through faith in Jesus, we receive the forgiveness of sins and eternal life. Faith is a gift worked in us by the power of the Holy Spirit; it doesn't come to us through anything we do ourselves, but through what God does for us out of His great love.
About Grace
God's amazing grace is a wonderful gift. While we deserve to pay the penalty for our sins, God had a different plan. Christ paid the debt and we receive the forgiveness and eternal life.
About the Church
We believe Christians were not meant to live in isolation but to come together in community with others. FLC is part of the Lutheran Church, the oldest and largest Protestant church body in the world. We are a member church of the Missouri Synod which began in the United States in the 1800s as the country was being settled. The LCMS has over 6600 churches worldwide with membership close to 3 million.
